While we are waiting with bated breath for the conclusion of LOST in January 2010, we have to fill time in front of the TV this summer somehow. So far we have two shows in mind -- the first two seasons of Arrested Development along with the Band of Brothers series.
What other great summer-time programming should we consider for inclusion in our TV time?
If you talk to just about anyone about losing weight they'll probably tell you that exercise is a key component. My problem is that I hate it.
The truth is that I had gotten to the point where I felt that I was too heavy to exercise. I was actually embarrassed to excercise because that meant that I was overweight. Pretty dumb.
One of the commitments that Leslie and I made when we decided that it was time to lose weight was to begin to exercise regularly. For the past few weeks our exercise has consisted of walks several times a week in our neighborhood with its steep hills.
Now I am going to try to take it to another level. This week I've started a running program using a very cool podcast called Podrunner Intervals. Basically it guides you on when to run and when to walk while building you up over several weeks to the point where you can run a 5K.
I have to say that at this point it is really kicking my butt. I have hurting muscles that I didn't even know I had. I have no idea if this will stick or not, but I like the results so far.
Any suggestions from runners out there how a new runner should get started?
For the current series at Apostles I am trying something a little different. My goal is to have a different Color scheme and background landscape image for each week in this seven part series. I am also attempting to theme the image with the theme of the sermon for that week.
This is week three and the theme is "Call on Me for great things."
If you know me you know that I love tech and I really love my iPhone. Accompanying my on my journey of weight loss is a very cool iPhone app called Weightbot.
I posted a screen shot yesterday showing a really cool summary screen of my progress, but today I thought I would share a couple of more shots of this really cool program that helps keep me motivated.
